FIRST LOOK: Anna Sui for Target

The look book of designer Anna Sui's Target line has been leaked...and here are some of the new looks that will be available.

The new line consists of 19 looks inspired by the popular television show Gossip Girl. ...And to make things a bit more fun for us, they'v based the designs on the type of looks worn by the Gossip Girl characters themselves. Blair's dresses have high collars, two affixed with bows. Vanessa's dresses are strangely all orange and brown, Jenny's dresses are a confused mix of bohemian schoolgirl social climber, and Serena's outfits, while cute, could be a bit more daring.

We're not sure we're loving most of the pieces, but we did manage to pull some that we think we'd buy...You can decide for yourself.

The line will be available in stores and online September 13 through October 17.

Will YOU be buying it?

Michael Jackson is Over Capacity

*sigh*
I wasn't going to post a 'tribute' to Michael Jackson since I
still can't believe that he's actually gone, but this illustration is just too cute, so I decided to just reminisce a little bit.

Have you seen this version of Twitter's "Fail Whale" featuring Michael Jackson?

Michael Jackson is Over Capacity

...and I just came across this. Who remembers when Madonna sampled Michael Jackson's song "Billie Jean" during her 'Like a Virgin' Tour back in 1985? {The "Billie Jean" sample is around 2:36 in the video.}

It all brings back so many memories of being a child growing up in the 70s and 80's. I got to experience the Jackson5 as well as Michael Jackson. I personally feel so fortunate to have grown up in the 80's since it was a decade of such individuality, unlike now.

"Billie Jean" {the MJ version} was the first video that I actually
remember from when Mtv first came on air. ...And who could ever forget when he first did the 'moonwalk'? We were all just in awe!

Obviously, I'm affected that an icon from my childhood has passed...as everyone is. I think it's because it's a reality check...reminding us of our own mortality. Michael was a talent who kept us all entertained, whether it was with his talent or his personal drama. It all seems too unreal that his talent is gone. *sniff sniff*
p.s. Mikiep is still convinced that this is part of a what will be the largest publicity stunt ever and that MJ will be with us again in about a week or two.

We doubt it, but we can only hope...

Pretty Things...Madonna for Louis Vuitton

Apparently a new image from the Louis Vuitton Autumn/Winter 2009-10 campaign has been leaked online...and we LOVE it!

Although not yet confirmed as part of the new campaign, this image featuring Madonna wearing a pair of the sweet bunny ears she rocked at last month's MET Gala, is said to be one of several taken by photographer Steven Meisel for the company's newest advertisements.

These images have a different vibe from their previous Spring campaign, with soft,
colourful photographs that have been digitally enhanced with colorizing effects and photoshopped to perfection!

New images will be released for the upcoming August 2009 fashion magazines worldwide...on newsstands next month.

Every Picture Tells a Story

I was out and about shopping on beautiful Montana Avenue in Santa Monica {California} yesterday and came across the most delightful discovery...an art gallery specializing in the art of illustration called Every Picture Tells A Story Gallery. It carries original artwork from some of our most loved childhood stories. I was totally in heaven since they have priceless originals, numbered prints and classic artwork from Disney, Charles Schulz, Dr. Seuss, Tim Burton and more!

'Very Hungry Caterpillar' 40th Anniversary Print signed by Eric Carle {right}

One of my favourite stories when I was a kid {and yours too, I'm sure since it's sold something like 29 MILLION copies} was The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. The Every Picture Tells a Story Gallery is the only gallery with the “40th Anniversary Very Hungry Caterpillar” giclee print, in a limited edition to 200 honouring the classic...and each print is personally signed and numbered by Eric Carle himself...Yay! They told me that only 100 prints remain and priced at only $450, I'm sure they won't last. I'm in discussions now with the hubs as to whether we can get one. The image is just too cute for words and I just have to have one to add to my slowly growing art collection. :)

Below are just some of the other limited edition signed and numbered prints I loved that were available at the gallery. Celebrities and fellow art collectors alike are sure to grab these quickly. In fact, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz bought this $5,300 extremely limited 'Nightmare Before Christmas' Print by Tim Burton for their gothic nursery when they were getting ready for baby Bronx to arrive...How sweet!
