Pretty Things...Madonna for Louis Vuitton

Apparently a new image from the Louis Vuitton Autumn/Winter 2009-10 campaign has been leaked online...and we LOVE it!

Although not yet confirmed as part of the new campaign, this image featuring Madonna wearing a pair of the sweet bunny ears she rocked at last month's MET Gala, is said to be one of several taken by photographer Steven Meisel for the company's newest advertisements.

These images have a different vibe from their previous Spring campaign, with soft, colourful photographs that have been digitally enhanced with colorizing effects and photoshopped to perfection!

New images will be released for the upcoming August 2009 fashion magazines worldwide...on newsstands next month.

Soft Porn and Scrunchies...

American Apparel is currently trying to reincarnate a popular 80's fashion accessory better left to rest...AA is trying to bring back the SCRUNCHIE... Ewwww!

AA is showing them in everything from neon to zebra print...lamé to tribal print--and offering them up, for our viewing pleasure, on a freckle-faced PYT who writhes around in them seductively wearing a barely-there swimsuit, complete with a nip slip or two. These shots alone will surely make your man run out to buy them for you...or beg you to wear them...or not.

I suppose the scraps of fabric from AA's buttless tights had to be used for something, but we think some killer G-strings or thongs might have made better use of the left overs as we hate to see the return of this hideous trend.

I'm back from my fun little time away from You...Miss me much?? :)

I had such a wunderful time as part of my BFF's wedding in Chicago, running a muck with the hubs across the great USA and tearing it up at every turn. {I'll post some pictures soon!} Of course we ate too much, drank too much and had too much fun...Or not. *wink*

I'm just tired as can be and have 'jet lag' trying to get back into the swing of things...graphic art projects, filling orders, creating new lovelies and more, so I'll be posting sporadically for the next week or so.

Pretty Things Big Give: The Sea Within

Nadine of The Sea Within grew up in the Canadian Prairies with a desire to create, learning to sew when she was young.
Unfortunately, she didn't really do much with her craft until she moved to the California Bay Area and re-discovered some much needed inspiration in the beautiful fabrics at a local store. Now, she also finds inspiration for her lovely bags in some of the most simple yet unexpected places, such as a party dress, cake, postcards, sharp pencils, flea market finds and the inscriptions found in old books.

The Sea Within

★ What inspires you?
I'm not sure what inspires me. Since I can remember, I could never find things I'd like in the shops and would modify them myself (usually with the help of my mom). I think a lot of my ideas come from not being able to find things I like. I also love anything with animals and nature on it. Also all the great fabrics I find really inspire me to create.

★ What has been your most memorable moment selling your art?
My most memorable moment...hmmm... Probably when I sold 100 items on Etsy. I think I felt validated and that I may be a sorta good at this. I remember when I first started on Etsy all I wanted to do was sell 10 items, so hitting one hundred was huge for me. I used to look at the shops that had 100 items and thought that was so incredible.

★ Any advice for fellow artists...
I would advise people to do what they love. Don't worry about wondering if it will sell or if it's the right style. I just make things I like and that I want to make. Keep it fun. Once it isn't fun anymore, it's not worth it.

98% of the time I am inspired by fabric. I go to estate sales looking for vintage fabric and love combining vintage with everyday life. As far as the other 2%, it's a combination of the big city life and everything that comes with that (style, culture, creativity, etc.) as well as art. …And I am extremely passionate about finding beauty in things that typically aren't thought of as "beautiful".

★ What has been your most memorable moment selling your art?
I’ll never forget the first time I took my bags into the design office where I work. I was extremely worried that they wouldn't like them and, in reality, everyone went crazy for them. That really gave me the boost of confidence I needed to start running with what I do.

★ Any advice for fellow artists...
Make what you love and don’t care if people don't like it. Ultimately, everyone needs to do what makes him or her happy.
