As a basis of comparison, the photo shows 3 women. The woman on the left is a US size 10, the woman in the middle is a US size 6, and the woman on the right is a US size 14.
The average size of an American woman is a size 14. What size are you?
But, let's face it... Most women not only dress to compete with other women, they also diet in order to be skinnier than other women. Women themselves are said to prefer a size 6, which is much different in appearance than the size 10 preferred by men.
So, what about you?
Which body do YOU find most appealing?

I'll be honest. I KNOW that my partner doesn't care what I look like, but I do try to maintain my size 6 figure, mostly for myself--but I want him to have something nice to look at too.
I have a little bit extra around my middle and I could stand to work out, but I'm fine the way I am.
Do I think I look like this size 6? No, I envision myself to look more like the girl Caroline.
For me, media plays a big part in body image for myself. I don't want to be a size 0, but I'd love to be a 6 and be able to wear all of the cute vintage clothing I keep finding.
Even without the media, I'm not happy when I look in the mirror and I'm doing everything I can to reach my goal. Not for anyone but me.
I'm a size 0-2 and I actually have a problem keeping my weight up, so a size 6 is something I aspire to in the opposite direction. For the most part I'm happy with my body though.
I personally have been a size 10 [in high school] and also a size 0 [when I modeled] and neither were fun.
As a 10, I always felt fat, and, as a size 0, I thought I was still 'fat' by modeling standards.
Now, as a size 5-6, I look back at old photos and think I looked a bit gaunt as a 0. I also now understand why my family kept saying I was "too skinny".
I'm pretty happy now being in the middle as long as I work out to keep everything firm. That's really the key...eating in moderation and keeping it all together with a bit of exercise. :)

i've been a wide range of sizes. for quite a while, i was at a size 2 because of medical reasons--i was nauseous all the time and had a horrible appetite! now that i'm eating normally again, i'm a 10-12.
looking at the pics, i think of myself as looking like the size 14 woman. i had to think about whether i found the size 6 or 10 to be my ideal, but honestly, i think it's the size 10.
I think it also depends upon one's height and body type. There's a big difference between a 5'2" size 10 and a 5'8" size 10.
The three women in the photo look normal for their height and frame. I don't think anyone can call any of them "fat".
Ultimately people just need to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle and take care of themselves. Who really cares about numbers? Most clothing companies seems to create their own system of sizes, so who can even begin to understand it. Just be well and be happy.
Tillie definitely has the best body. I don't think thinner is always better - size 0 or even 2 might be too thin for taller ladies. But a US size 6 is balance of curvy and slim, which looks great.
how on earth is tillie a size 6???!?!!?!?! I'm a size 4 and i look way worse than her!!!
Why to do these comparisons I think women body is perfect, it doesn't matter if they're chubby, or thin because all women have their own beauty.m10m
I find it almost impossible to state what EXACT size I am. I'm 5'5" and I usually fall between US 8-10, but I do have things in my wardrobe which were sized 6. :P I guess it was a big 6. :P On the other hand I have a large bust and sometimes I need to go with 12 (or even 14) to fit myself into a garment. But overall I'd state my size as 10. :) My ideal size? Well, I like myself. To get rid of a few cm around the stomach could be nice, but if it would come alongside ruining the shape and size of my breasts (and it probably would) - then I'm fine with my body. :) I like the look of women who are, unlike me, very tall and, kind of, delicate, like size 4-6 (sometimes even 2), but I'm not sure if I'd like that for myself. :P
