Even after thinking he wasn't going to be able to pull it together, he finally focused on the positive and took inspiration from his favourite things.
Som is not alone this season, as many designers are feeling impending doom based on the current economic crisis. Many have scaled back, nixed after parties or ended up not doing shows at all...and instead are booking private showings or utilising their look books instead.
Som's 16 piece capsule collection for Fall 2009 RTW, which he will be showing at private appointments, is one of my favourites of the season so far... classics, such as tweed jackets, shift dresses and tie-neck blouses, all in a mix of colour and texture. Jacquards and tweeds with metallic accents and fox furs dipped in pink, blue and purple...love. It was eclectic and eccentric and we'd buy all of it if we could! Here, some of my favourites:

It's so sad the way the market is going, right along with the economy. Fashion is so inspiring and I always look forward to your picks, which are marvelous yet AGAIN, I might add. :)
Are you finally gonna start doing your fashion illustrations again? You mentioned it a while back, but I've not seen anything. Let me know. I missed out on buying one before, but wouldn't want to miss out on having one of your illustrations if you start doing them again. I love your drawing style!
More yummy!
That first dress is AMAZING! I want it I want it I want it now.
